ABOUT

LCroP logo

LCroP is linked to the Institute of Biology at the University of Campinas (IB/UNICAMP), in Campinas SP, Brazil. Although our activities have began a long time ago (since early 2013), we have now a website to show all our studies and findings.

Our aim is to improve crop performance under stressful conditions by exploring the genetic diversity or through new management practices based on crop physiology. We believe that the understanding of how plants respond to environmental challenges and the role of such responses for plant growth and development are essential for elaborating new agricultural practices and breakthrough discoveries, which would help breeding programs in launching varieties or hybrids.

We have a close collaboration with the Instituto Agronômico (IAC) and our team is lead by Dr. Rafael V. Ribeiro (UNICAMP) and Dr. Eduardo C. Machado (IAC). Our students are from the graduate programs on Plant Biology (UNICAMP), Bioenergy (UNICAMP) and Tropical & Subtropical Agriculture (IAC) and most of our research is funded by the São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP), the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq) and the Coordination for Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (CAPES).

Feel free to browse our website and send us a message.

Cheers!
